Unable to play DVDs after hooking up HD antenn

I recently cancelled Comcast. For the longest time my DVD player was hooked up into my cable box. I have a pretty basic HD antenna that I plugged into my TV that I used for a bit tonight and then switched to a DVD. I realized when I went to channel 3 (the channel I usually go to for playing my DVDs) and I couldn't access what was playing in my DVD player. What steps did I miss? I know I'm not including brands but the same exact thing happened to another cable free TV that I have in a bedroom that I hooked up an antenna to and suddenly couldn't access my DVD player

Yup, that was pretty much it. Another thing I had to do was make sure the cable cords were plugged in and I used a cable splitter to allow the DVD/VCR to plug into the back of my TV along with my Antenna!
