Will an i3 4330 suffice for VR?

I ran SteamVR Performance Test, which rightfully said my R7 260X is not VR Ready, but said my i3 4330 was in the green for VR Ready, and said there was only 1 frame CPU bound. I don't know if that would change when I upgrade my graphics card, but that's why I'm here.

Also, I don't think I'll be playing anything crazy. I'm getting into VR more for the art aspects of it, so I'll be playing games like Tilt Brush, Kodon and Oculus Medium (through Revive.) I'll also play The Lab since the Vive comes with it. I might get into other stuff later on, but mostly it's just for the 3D art crap.

From what I've read, the i3 4330 has decent single-core performance, which is what matters most of the time in VR games. I'm going to be getting an EVGA GTX 1070 SC, which is already $585 on Newegg, (I'm Canadian,) and then I need to get a Vive for $1,150. I'm not going to spend another $458 on an i7 4790, if it's really just not necessary.
 
Solution
The Rift can cover that area, though you'd have to spend extra on sensors and extension cables. Still cheaper than the Vive though.

A 4330 is not enough really. You can get used 4790 or even 4690's for cheap tho.

I've got my mind set on the Vive, I really need that full room scale. I know you can move somewhat with a Rift, but I've got a big 11x15 foot space, and it'd be great to use all of it.
