How can I get my tracfone pixi unite to light up receiving text

My tracfone pixi unite does not light up when a text is received. How can I fix this?

You should check the notification settings for the phone. Try the main phone settings area first, and if not there then try the settings within the text messaging app.

Now if this is not about standard texts, and is about messages within another app, you would have to check that apps settings.
