Is the HTC Vive affected while using a connection with miniDP to DP?

I'm wondering if an adapter for my monitor would be best, my GPU only has one HDMI slot, and my monitor is using that up. Currently I am using a MiniDP to DP cable for my vive, but my computer keeps crashing. I mainly think that is because I am using an MSI GeForce GTX 1050 Ti now. I'm also wondering if I should get a 1060.

I wouldn't recommend using any kind of input switch cables. If you want to play VR you can't cut corners. And you'll need a bigger card to play it. Get a 8 gb card for a much better experience.

Hmm, miniDP to DP shouldn't be a problem, at least not causing crashes.

The GTX 1050 Ti is not powerful enough to run an HTC Vive well, you'd need a Rift to run smoothly with that card. But again it shouldn't normally cause crashes.

Maybe there's something else going on, a driver problem perhaps.
