Hi guys. I own an old laptop, an AMD A6-3400M APU with a Radeon HD 6520G and 4 GB RAM.
I've bought this laptop with windows 7 included but then I've decided to upgrade it with Win 8 and now Win 10. I'm not happy with this last relase, my PC is really slow and the update are impossible to block. Everytime my windows got an update it takes at least 2 hour for complete the update (unacceptable).

I was wondering what is the best choice about OS for this limited and outdated laptop.
Is a good choice to return to windows 7 or 8?

What about linux distro? I know many problem about AMD drivers, especially the graphic drivers, and I want some information about it.

Thanks

is your laptop a HP g6 by chance?

2 hours for win 10 update? That's very slow - not sure that is an os problem - you may find the same problem even if you go back to win7.

Been using Ubuntu mate on Acer Laptop Aspire AS7560-7183 AMD A6-Series A6-3420M (1.5 GHz) 4 GB Memory for around 4 years now, Firefox 57, thunderbird mail , setup as htpc with logitech wireless keyboard and mouse through Denon Avr .and LG 60 inch tv, Works great for us, Linux user 10 years plus here, there are many options for older laptops with linux.I think since original install updated/upgrade to Ubuntu 16.04 on it now with current updates hope this helps,
