Hdmi converted to Vga working but HDMI to HDMI has no signal

Hi everyone,

I bought a new monitor(lg23mp68vq) and tried plugging into my machine via hdmi. It says no signal. But when I tried using a converter(hdmi to vga), the monitor worked via VGA. I also checked the hdmi cable by connecting it to our tv and it works. What seems to be the problem?

Rx460
Asrock z87 pro3
8gb ram

try the monitor on another computer even a friend's that has a hdmi connector on it to see if your monitor is the problem or not.
