Hey guys
My 10 yr old and I are embarking on our first build to get him VR ready.. since we are complete amateurs is there anything on this list that would be beneficial for me to change or be more cost effective? Much appreciated

One tip is upping the gpu to the GTX 1080 here. For another $100 it is much improved even over the 980ti.

Also, monitors are not my strongsuit but with this you can take a glance at a 4k display I reckon!

Agree with the above, I would look at the pascal cards over your 980ti.

Also, you would have a pretty powerful machine, able to push 1080 games into the 100+ fps range, but you would be bottlenecked to 60 by your monitor. If this is exclusively a VR machine, its probably not a big deal, but if you are playing any fps, might want to consider a monitor with a higher refresh.
