Unlocking the locked multiplier on AMD?

Neat, though relatively useless. Since AMD is making the highest of each family BE, getting an unlocked processor is relatively cheap (as opposed to the FX and EE lines).

Also, I'm curious as to the (likely) detriment of having the L3 cache used solely by core 0.

Well hardware isn't a really geeky thing these days.

These days, OC'ing is available after doing simple math and pressing a button.

Back in those days...

I posted this elsewhere but it didn't seem to attract any interest for some reason. I guess people like to buy BEs. Dekasav made an excellent point though.
