wifi not working with phone

i just got a galaxy J1 and wifi wont seem to work with it?

Try clearing out the WiFi information for the one you are trying to connect to. Check for phone updates, and then restart the phone.
Next go back into "Settings" and re-input the WiFi information and see if it will connect. If it does not, you may have to repeat the steps above after having reset your modem/router.
