k my friend got an amd x2 550BE which he wana unlock to quad core he got the lucky batch no. everything is fine but only 1 problem the mobo he got is Asus m3a78-em i know there is NO AAC option in these mobo but is there n hack version of bios out there???

Solution
no possible, it has to have the ACC option, which means different motherboard

@jimishtar you must be thinking of the Athlon II X2, the Phenom II X2 has two disabled cores (as the 550 is the Phenom II)

nope, without ACC you cannot attempt to unlock cores.

i have a 550 myself, and am purchasing a new mobo soon just so i can try this out.

some of the gigabyte boards are very cheap and support ACC/hybrid, so it may be worth picking up a new one.

this guy has no idea what he's talkling about.

perhaps research before posting?

yes, the 550 is the 955 with 2 cores disabled so it can be sold as a dual core. with the right motherboard and BIOS combo it is possible to unlock the additional cores for a fully functioning quad core. its not guaranteed, but the sucess rates have been very high.

exactly my point. why bother to tell how to unlock cores, when it will only cause more troubles.
