Hey!

So I have a Samsung xcover 2 mobile phone. Used to work just fine until today it suddenly switched off. And then switched on again. And off... And so on. I took the battery out for a while. Also took the sd card out, sim card. Nothing helps. Whats seems weird is that phone comes to a point where I see the desktop, there is a notice "Google Play wasn't started successfully" and it switches off. That is weird because it never did that before.

Trick - my USB port is not operating so I cannot plug it to my computer.

What to do?

Thank you for any solutions,
Klara

It sounds like either you have a software (OS) problem, or you have a bad app.

Since it won't go past that screen try loading the phone in "Safe Mode" and see if it will start. If it does, then it is definitely an app or other after market installation.

To get into "Safe Mode" please do the following.

1. First turn off the phone.

2. Next press and hold "Power" until you see the manufacturers logo on the screen, then release the power button.

3. "Quickly" press "Volume Down" and hold it for few seconds until you see the message "Safe mode: ON" or something similar.

4. If you wanted disable safe mode, simply repeat the steps above, and you should see "Safe Mode: Off" rather than On.

If it will load, then you know it is an app. If that is the case, I would uninstall anything new or recently updated. You can uninstall from "Safe Mode".

If this doesn't fix it, and the phone is still under warranty, I would contact your provider or the manufacturer about a fix and/or replacement. If it isn't under warranty you could try a "Hard Reset", but that will wipe your data. So you know.

NOTE: Doing this will clear the data on your phone, so it is suggested you not choose this option unless you have to, or aren't worried about losing anything on the phone.

Be sure you back up any data you want to keep, to a computer or cloud account, before doing the reset.

To "Hard Reset" the phone...

1. Make sure that the phone is actually powered off.

2. Press the "Power" and the "Volume Up" buttons, together, until you see the start-up logo on the screen.

3. Once you can see the logo, release the buttons and allow the device to enter the "System Recovery Mode".

4. Next use "Volume Down" button to get to the "wipe data/factory reset" option When in recovery mode the "Volume Up" and "Volume Down" buttons are how to can navigate and highlight what option you need.

5. Once you have selected the "wipe data/factory reset", press the "Power" button to select that option.

6. On the following screen, repeatedly press the "Volume Down" button until the "Yes - delete all user data" option is what is selected.

7. Then press the "Power" button to hard reset the phone.

Thank you thank you thank you! I would buy you a beer if I could.
I couldn't get in the safe mode but I hard reset it and it works :) Just a correction - You need to hold "power", "volume up" AND "home" button together.
