Tablet screen replacement

My tablet screen broke and I cannot find a replacement specifically for the model I have. I found a screen from a different model/brand tablet. It is the same size, has the same pin count on the connector, the connector is in the same position, the camera location is in the correct place, and the two models even have the same screen resolution. Should the screen work even though it is not for my specific model?
