Hello,

I am looking for a gaming laptop with a i7 processor and a good graphics card.I have looked at laptops with gtx960m,970m and 980m cards. The 980m is too costly...looking for a laptop that will cost about $1000-$1200 at the max. There are a lot of options(Asus,Acer, etc) and I want to make sure that I pick a laptop which can run games for atleast the next 3-4 years without any problems.

Also I do not have a strong opinion on ssd and touchscreen in the laptop.I welcome your thoughts on this matter.
Thank you.

In my opinion, a touchscreen on a laptop is just a gimmick. Whether you agree or not, touchscreen gaming laptops are relatively rare. As for an SSD, it is a very desirable feature to have. But with a limited budget such as yours, I would be more concerned about getting the best GPU possible. You can always swap the HDD for an SSD at a later date quite easily.

Here's a couple of possibilities:

If you can't get a laptop with a 980m then you will not be able to get a laptop that will run new games for 4 years.

A 970m may do it but would be on low settings in games pretty quickly.

I like www.xoticpc.com for gaming laptops, although they changed their web site lately and it's not as easy to sort them now.
