There is information here on how to actually replace it... http://www.tomsguide.com/faq/id-2333911/replace-battery-galaxy-tab-inch.html

Also, here are a couple of youtube video on how to do it as well... https://youtu.be/JvYp4NXePlY and https://youtu.be/KRi14z3mAIU

They are for replacing a battery, but in your case it would be for just removing it for a bit and putting it back. The second one is a tad annoying, since it keeps advertising their own site, but it does have the instructions needed. I thought it best to give you two to check out, since they show slightly different tablets.

I wish companies would stop making phones and tablets that are hard to get into. Even if it is just to access a battery. It is a hassle and...
If you want to try a "Hard Reset", first I would suggest you remove the battery for about 10 seconds. Then put it back in, and follow these instructions...

AGAIN - NOTE: Doing this will clear the data on your tablet, so it is suggested you not choose this option unless you have to, or aren't worried about losing anything on the tablet.

To "Hard Reset" the tablet...

1. Make sure that the tablet is actually powered off.

2. Press the "Power" and the "Volume Up" buttons, together, until you see the start-up logo on the screen.

3. Once you can see the logo, release the buttons and allow the device to enter the "System Recovery Mode".

4. Next use "Volume Down" button to get to the "wipe data/factory reset" option When in recovery mode the "Volume Up" and "Volume Down" buttons are how to can navigate and highlight what option you need.

5. Once you have selected the "wipe data/factory reset", press the "Power" button to select that option.

6. On the following screen, repeatedly press the "Volume Down" button until the "Yes - delete all user data" option is what is selected.

7. Then press the "Power" button to hard reset the tablet.

It is a hassle and dangerous, as if you do things a little to hard, you can break something. So if you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself, you may wish to try taking it to a tech in your area.
