can't open itunes

having great trouble with itunes. i did manage to open it once but the language was chinese or some other language which displayed unreadable hieroglyphics. i couldn't check options because i couldn't read anything. currently when i try to open itunes all i get is a pop up box fullof uneadable characters

Try to uninstall iTunes and reinstall it, making sure to select "English" (or your language of choice) during the setup process.
