do i get my contacts put in a new phone

my phone broke was wondering if I could get my contacts from my old phone to my new phone

Depends on how they were backed up or saved. If in your google or service provider account, when you activate the new phone they should come down. If they were saved locally with no backup, you need to get the phone fixed first. You may be able to grab some numbers from texts if those come through on the new phone, maybe without names but if you look at the conversations you should figure out what name goes with what number.
