Galaxy S3 tablet is dead and won't charge

My galaxy S3 tablet has completely discharged (haven't used it for a while) and now when I plug it into the wall charger it won't charge. It had started losing it's charge fairly quickly before. Could it just be the battery, or something else? Had it 2 or 3 years this coming April (2, I think). Any advice appreciated.

Probably the battery. If it was already in poor shape before, it's probably as good as dead now. Replacing it should solve things.
