How to find the right TV for PS4

Hello,
I am looking for a new TV. Right now my TV is a PC monitor and is only about 27 inches?

I would like a TV that is less than $500. What kind of specs should I look for? I am looking to optimize my PlayStation 4 experience. I do kind of intend to sit at least 6-7 ft away, but I can sit closer if need be.

you could get something like the sony kdl-48r510c which runs about $500 at walmart and is 48"

we recently upgraded the pc in the other room and set that sony up as a monitor for a home theater/gaming pc and for the price it works well. the stand is a bit flimsy so a wall mount would be a good idea.

I don't any bells and whistles, no smart tv or internet hookup. No homescreen business. Just a good picture tv that will run games well.
