Samsung unlocking sites don't list Verizon

trying to unlock my version Samsung Galaxy s3 and the sites that have had the most success don't list version as an original carrier. Im 100% sure it's from Verizon. I know Verizon bought Alltell and they're listed as an original carrier, wondering if it would still work if I used that option as the orig. carrier.
