2015 new laptops around $800, Asus v MSI v

I'm looking for a laptop around $800.

Mainly to be used for some gaming(GTA V med settings?) lots of movies/youtube. Some basic programs for office work.


Which is better between these two new laptops:

MSI GP60 LEOPARD-1053

ASUS K501LX-EB71


The Asus looks like a better value, specs wise but Some reviews say that the screen is a disappointment. (but has SSD and Thinner too)

MSI no reviews yet. Based on previews MSI models review of the screen is good.


I'm using a 7 years old laptop now and I'm not really familiar with the new ones. which do you think would be a better buy?

The cpu in the MSI is better, but draws more power. Hard to say which is a better buy. Depends which specs are more important to YOU. I hate decisions like this, LOL...
