Hi tomsguide,

I wanted to warn you that Makergeeks.com is scamming customers by delivering unworkable printers. I got their Kossel Mini 3D printer (that you link to as the "best DIY 3d Printer" in your guide here: http://www.tomsguide.com/us/best-3d-printers,review-2236.html ) and it was missing several parts and the hotend was not assembled as promised. Several parts broke due to poor quality, and the screws were all mixed together in one large bag and 20 of them were missing. Additionally, there are NO instructions. There was not a single piece of paper in the box, not even an inventory list. It took me over 20 hours to figure out I was missing a large number of parts, as this was my first build. He has agreed to give us a refund, but if you see the reviews on youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V_K693tpuW4 you will see I am not the first to have this problem. I have also seen he has been deleting 1-star reviews of the product on the makergeek website, because there was one there a few days ago and now it is gone.

I think your company should promptly cease linking to this company's website because it reflects poorly on you to associate with them and support this deficient product. The Kossel Mini is fine, MakerGeeks.com is not.

Thank you,
Trevor

I agree. I am one of the scammed customers. I no longer trust recommendations from Tomsguide because they featured this kit. I spent a lot of time messing with this junk. My purchase decision was partly based on the Tomsguide recommendation. If you are going to recommend an $800+ item you should at least anonymously order the product then assemble it first before you decide it is good.

Lots of angry customers:

Joshua also deleted my one star review.

I chatted with Sanjay with E3D over e-mail and he stated that he sent a ceast and desist letter to Makergeeks.com because they were using his brand name and photographs on their site to sell knock-off E3D v5s. Sanjay told me that he tried to convince Joshua with Makergeeks to stock and distribute genuine E3D hotends but he refused to work with him.

Thanks for you input, and very sorry for the delay replying. I'm going to remove this printer from our page - at least until we find out more from the company. Please stay with it!
