If people really have this much disposable income for crap, yes crap as it'll be obsolete next year so it's not even an 'investment', like this, there's probably quite a few homeless people in their neighborhood they could feed for months on $5000. I'm not sure which is worse, that diamond encrusted iPhone built a while back, or this... actually, both are equally seriously 'priority out of whack' items.

There's no question that Apple caters to the high end/premium market, but this is outright esoteric. I'm skeptical that something like this can sell any more than the iPhone 5C.

Come on people... this is just one speculation that does not jive. There were (and are) other estimates that put the retail pricing around $1200 which is much more believable.
