Okay,

I deleted some files off of my phone that I need back--apparently due to my phone being a mainly east coast provider there isn't a lot of material out there for how to recover data(I've tried Dr. Fone) and all the guides for how to root seem to be only for AT&T and Verizon. There's plenty of software out there that will recover this data if I root my phone but I have no idea how to do it. I know it cancels the phone's warranty but I pay insurance on my phone, for all I care once I get my data back I can smash the phone off the ground and just go get another one.

Anyone able to help me figure out how to do this? Thank you,

If I understand correctly, you just want to recover some files from your phone that you accidentally deleted, right? In that case, you don't necessarily need to root your phone. If so, take a look at this sticky for a few methods on how to recover lost data.
