Anyone know what freq the old primestar lnb's are on? I'm thinking
950-1450?

They are standard Ku. Just some may be ortho feeds, and require a
13/18V switch.

950-1450 is the L band frequency that most all satellite receivers use
now. C Band, Ku upper or lower. What you are looking for is the
downlink frequency range. Primestar was in Lower (or normal Ku) 11.7 -
12.2 Ghz.
DBS services are from 12.2 - 12.7 Ghz typically, although they do move
things around sometimes.

I forget where Primestar was in the sky. I thought they were on the
old Satcom K2, now where AMC5 is.

I have a few of these Primestar dish/lnb combos. They get everything that is
fta...except the sats that are for Directv and Dish .They use a circular
lnb.I attached one of those to the side of my primestar lnb and voila!

I'll have to try the Primestar dish then:)

Just got a Coship 3188 today. It is fine on Cband but when I do a
search with a Ku LNB(not aimed) it reverts to 3700 to 4200MHz. I put
10700to 11750 in it but it always searches Cband...Hmmm

Any Ideas?

Ben

I `ve had a Coship 3188c blind search receiver for about 9 months.No
problems at all.
In menu you set up( install ) your satellites.C band and ku must be
seperated as each one uses a different LO.
Set the ku sat to 10750 and save. Then blind scan that sat. You`ll be fine.

Make sure it has the latest firmware, and set the LO to 10750

Thanks...
I the manual isn't so great.

It's to rainy here to play with my Ku stuff. I'm finding a lot on
Cband with my 13 foot Hero dish. It would really be nice to get Ku to
work on the Hero. I've tried a co-rotor with so so luck and I also
have a strange Ku retrofit thing that fits over the end of the Cband
scaler rings. Gonna try those again but it has always been a hassle to
get Ku on the 4 meter dish!

I have several offset dishes now that need to be used. Haven't got the
knack for aiming them yet. It was so much easier when there was more
NTSC up on Ku.
