My old quantum drive is basically trashed. It boots on the PVR, but freezes
and it appears to be heat related. Its 5 years old.

I have a new Seagate drive I want to use in the PVR.

I have the RTVPatch Program for Windows XP and I don't care about stored
programs on the old drive. How can I proceed to format this drive for use
in the PVR w/out bothering w/the old drive. OR must I have the old drive to
run the patch utility OR is there some other program I can use.

Should I format my new drive as an FAT drive - right now it is NTFS.

Joe, You will need a Showstopper disk image. You can download one here
ftp://ftp.kdhnews.com

Look in the /images/panasonic folder. Instructions how to install it are in
that same directory. No need to format the drive. Your PC motherboard will
recognise the Seagate and RTVpatch will automatically format it for use in a
replay.
