Sidecar driving me crazy.

First of all the remote for my sidecar was also causing my Innovation 450i
to make changes. I would skew up or down on the 4D remote and the 450i would
change channels. The one that really got annoying was about 10% of the time
hitting [Enter] on the 4D remote would turn the 450i off. Grrrr. Then I
found out I could change the signal pattern on the 4D remote. I set it to
003.

Now then I have another problem someone might be able to help me with. My 4D
sidecar does not like to change satellites. If I bring up the sat list and
curser over to _say_ G3 and hit [Enter] the screen asking me to switch back
to my 450i comes up (note: at the top of this screen it still shows the sat
and channel I was last on) and I hit [Enter] again to switch to the 450i.
Using the 450i remote I switch to or confirm the correct sat and then I
[A/D] back to the 4D just to find out it never switch to the new sat. I have
also tryed using the [Guide] to switch to G3 but it just stays were I was.
Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

Follow the sidecar's manual on this:

It tells you to go to the front panel and press the up and down arrow at the
SAME time...then change the remote address..(by pressing 'enter'.(the
default is A0,,,,use anything but that!)....

then on the remote : "press the sat key tills it flashes 3 time.....then
key in a number from 001-003 (corresponds with A1-A3)...then hit enter and
you're all set!If it accepts it,it will flash to confirm it!

The same thing happened to me when I got my Gi550i and dsr-905 4DTV
sidecar - TO GO ALONG WITH the Motorola Navigo 401 Star Choice receiver
.....eee gads....I was going nuts, till I changed the Star Choice's and the
sidecar's remote addresses to non-conflicting ones!

Sorry I confused you but I was able to fix the remote problem, thanks thou.

I'm still trying to figure out why the 4D refuses to change satellites
sometimes.

G3 has no digital channels. The 905 cannot tune to analog channels.

The only reason that the analog only satellites are in the satellite
list is so you can add them to your list of available satellites. If a
satellite is not added to your list it will not appear in the IPG.

I'm not sure what "IPG" stands for,but Iknow the "G" refers to "Guide."

"Interactive Program Guide" maybe.

A word of caution with the 905. NEVER select a satellite from the satellite
menu that has no digital channels! If you do, you will lock up the 905, and
you will have to unplug/replug to get it working again. You have to include
the satellite without digital channels in the satellite menu, or else the
analog channels on that particular satellite will not show up in the program
guide.

When you change satellites, the 905 is supposed to show that screen saying
"you have selected a satellite. Be sure to select the equivalent satellite
on your analog satellite receiver. Your system will only move to the
necessary satellite if you have also selected the satellite on your analog
receiver. GO TO ANALOG MODE" ( "go to analog mode" is a highlighted item).
If you push "enter" on the remote, the 905 will switch to analog mode (so
that you can change your analog receiver), then you have to push the A/D
button to go back to digital. This is the way the programmers at Motorola
designed it. You cannot change this.

If you don't want to go to analog mode when you select a satellite on the
905, simply push "exit" on the remote when you get the GO TO ANALOG MODE
screen. The screen will just simply go away.
