wtf.. I just picked up a different Mortal Kombat LD release than my
other one that didn't work, and it says it's digital sound, but also
says "a mono soundtrack of the film has been encoded on the left analog
track. the right analog track contains an audio commentary"

but uh... the left channel is commentary, and the right is digital.....
so i can't watch it.... this has to be a mix-up or something?? maybe
someone put the wrong release in this jacket?? (it's used and the store
had several copies)

i have a tape of mortal kombat that's kinda messed up in parts and
looks terrible... i might try capturing the video off this disc and
taking the audio from the tape or something and sync em up in cool edit
then burn a dvd.

It's probably a misprint on the jacket. There are only 2 laserdisc
releases of Mortal Kombat, one with Dolby Digital and a commentary on
the analog tracks, and another DTS edition. The DTS edition has the
commentary on one analog channel and a mono movie soundtrack on the
other. The DTS edition is generally a lot more expensive than the Dolby
Digital edition, because most people buy it for the DTS, not the mono
soundtrack.
