Samsung Galaxy S5 Dalvik vs ART

Hi guys. I recently got a samsung galaxy s5. I heard that you could switch its runtime to ART from Dalvik for a speed/performance boost. I did that. I didn't really notice any changes and most of the time it wasn't as smooth as my Dalvik experience. So I switched back to Dalvik. Now, what I noticed was about 500mb of my device storage was gone. I really don't know how that happened. Could someone explain to me what happened and if its possible to get that memeory back? Thanks.

I believe ART uses more cache, but runs faster and uses less power. You should be able to get the space back by clearing cache.
