Is there a way to get digital cable program guide, without..

I want the program listing which is listed with the digital cable mode in
Inputs.
I do not want to change the channel using a digital cable box. I just want
the program listings to come up, and I use my replay to change channels (I
don't want IR blaster).

The problem is that if I select the channel listings that come with the
digital cable box for my local provider, I lose all ability to change
channels- it expects a box to do the channel changing (and I don't have a
box)

So, is there a way to customize a channel listing in that case-- in other
words add extra channels to my basic analog channel guide, and get program
data for those additional channels that are not, by default, on the program
guide?

I don't think i explained this too well, but I hope it makes sense.
Incidentally, the reason I want this is that I get many digital channels,
and I want the HD channels to appear on my program guide, but I do not use a
digital cable box-- my tv has a built in tuner that gets these channels. I
don't really care that the Replay can't tune in these channels, I just want
the channel programming to appear on the program guide.

Thanks!

This would be a nice feature to have. You'd have a problem when the
Replay tried to record from one of those channels. You could deselect
all those channels the Replay can't tune, but then you wouldn't get
the guide. See also below.

The inability of the Replay to change channels on the (nonexistant)
box will not keep you from using the guide, but there would be a
problem when the Replay thinks it can get those channels, and tries to
use them for automatic recordings. One way around that may be to
install DVArchive on a computer and get the digital guide there (I
just did that for checking the listings for a friend in another city).

Also, I see a disadvantage of integrated devices (in this case, cable
tuner & TV in one unit).

Your hookup is wrong. You should split the cable and feed 1 leg to the
box, 1 to the Replay coax. The a/v outs from the box go to the Inputs on
the Replay. You define the RF in on the Replay as "cable", the input
source as "cable box". You will get a guide with 2 sets of numbers 2-99
and 101-xxx which will have duplicates. One set is the Replay coax tuner
the other your box. Eliminate the channels on the RTV tuner et that are
only able to be gotten from the box. Eliminate the channels from the
cbale box input that the Replay can tune directly (most). The Replay
will then switch inputs as necessary to record.
