just wondering what others are using ?
I currently have 375 kbps setup. But the recommended says 300?
and the "default" setting for the ReplayTV says "641" ? Can I push it up to
641?

There is an individial setting for each Replay. Of my 3 Replays, I
have one set for 300 and the other two set for 900. The higher
transfer speed works fine, but will interfere with local use of the
Replay (VERY long control latency). The one I use the most is set to
300 because of this.

As for that "default", it looks like obsolete documentation. The
default probably was 641 at one time. Higher settings are fine if you
seldom use the Replay locally.

Thanks, I tried 900 and managed to get about 875kbps speed ok. I guess I
will change it when I am not using the Replay unit
Do you allow multiple downloads at this speed?

No. That would divide the available bandwidth between them, so you
would get no added benefit from allowing multiple downloads. DVArchive
handles multiple downloads from the same Replay (makes them wait and
does one at a time) so you don't even get the benefit of unattended
operation.

BTW, 1200 may work OK too.

The settings in DVArchive are per d/l. You set the max number of d/ls
and the max speed per d/l. If you use the default 375k and initiate 2
d/ls, each will be 375k, up to the limit of the unit.

Yes. Maybe you missed my explaination of how it's pointless to do so.

With it set to one download at 750K, you can download 2 things in the
same amount of time (or even less, it they're different sizes). It
requires just as little attention, since DVA just makes the second one
wait until the first is finished. Or, one download at 1125 would be
like 3 at 375.

Note that the Replay (and DVA) measures in kBps rather than in kbps
like networks usually do, so 375K and 750K (BYTES per second) are
equal to about 2.9M and 5.9M (BITS per second) on the network.
