Is there any loss in PQ and sound quality after the transfer?

No, because neither TiVo is re-encoding the video. And as Seth mentioned,
the transfer is digital, so there's no generational loss as you would
expect with an analog conversion/transfer.

No. It's all digital. Bits are bits.

DirecTiVo is a shorthand for DirecTV DVR with TiVo Service.

DirecTiVos are the combination DirecTV receivers & TiVo boxes that DirecTV
subscribers can use, instead of using a regular (standalone) TiVo with
their existing DirecTV receivers.

Thanks to all for responding.

I found that you cannot record (to DVD-R on a Tosh RS-TX60) a program that
was originally recorded on a SA Series 2 anyway, so the loss in PQ and SQ is
irrelevant (which is why I asked in the first place).

On another MRV note....I'm a little dissapointed that it is nearly
impossible to transfer a program to a box with a nearly full To-Do list.
Even though there is room on the HDD, "based on it's projections", it won't
let you transfer unless you mark some of the upcoming programs to delete
earlier than "until I delete".

Bad feature.....it should be treated like a newly recorded program.
