I've been putting it off for lack of funds (and the fact that since
it's emulation and I own all the real games, I don't really need one,
even though they look cool). "It" being buying one of those Jakks
Pacific 10-in-1 Atari joysticks. But today at Wal-Mart, I found them
marked at only $5, so I couldn't pass it up. It was the only one of
the plug-and-play joysticks marked at that price. I don't know if
this is just this one store of a nationwide thing, but you might want
to check your local Wal-Mart if you're interested.

No thanks. I'll wait for the Flashback 2.0 which has the "Atari 2600 on
a chip" design compared to the 10-in-1 joystick's "NES on a chip"
design...and the FB2 will have the ability to have a cart slot added
(which of course voids the warranty).

What does "NES on a chip" mean, exactly? How will the Flashback be
better? I heard (and experienced) some wackiness with the 10n1, but
just wasn't quite sure about the NES cxn.

Thanks!

NES on a chip is exactly what it says, somebody developed a way to
emulate the NES on one chip. That is why you are seeing so many
clones and those cheap units in the mall now a days. The original
Flashback (along with a few others) use this chip to simulate the
2600/7800 games.
