I just got my series2. I want to get some content from my Series1 to
DVD.

Is it advisable to go from Series1 > Vidcap > burn to DVD or is it
easier to go Series1 > Series2 > Tivo2Go > DVD ?

In that case, is there a preferred method for getting content from one
tivo (series1) to another (series2)

Do you want to hack the series1?

If not, then it depends on how good of a Vidcap device you have and if it
is better than your series2 TiVo at Vidcap.

You could play your Series1 into your Series2 and record at best quality,
but that may or may not be as good as whatever you have to do Vidcap.
Some experimenting may be needed to see which works best for you.

If you want to hack the box, then you could just copy the data off of the
Series1 onto your Computer and burn it (hmm, may require the purchase of a
network card for the TiVo?), without ever going through any unnecessary
conversions.
