how can i get tivo desktp 2.0 to work without cardreader

tivo desktop 2.0 always wants me to insert a sd card into the card
reader. is there anyway to fix this? i have to unplug my card reader
from the usb port to fix it why does tivo 2.0 need read the sd card for?

it doesnt, it sounds like your system is whacked. maybe try unassigning and
reassigning drive letters to your various storage devices. somehow your
OS is confused when you run tivo desktop about the drive letter it's
trying to access.

Did you ever try to serve pictures or music directly off of the SD card?
I have seen this before with other apps and removable media. The
application might just be remembering something (for me that would more
than likely be pictures) you either tried to did sent to the TiVO.

I had a similar problem with the earlier release of the desktop, where
it would refuse to "forget" a location I tried to serve, if I had
removed the location before telling the app to remove it.

I have seen this with multiple applications, including Word, when using
them with removable media.

i think that might of been the problem. i played photos from a cf card
on my tivo. and left the cf drive info on desktop 2.0. seems to be
working now
