Who does one ask, to get the best deal on the HR10-250.

Asking for "Your best deal" apparently hasn't cut it yet for me.

I've been reading that some folks got the following deal:

HR10-250 for $299.99 from DirecTv
$100 credit on account
6 months free HBO, Showtime, and HD service

I figure there must be a code name to ask for to get this package.

I call 1-800-Directv, and get connected to the Phillipines.

I didn't know Murdock had outsourced support. Apparently also have a
call center in India now.

The rep didn't know what an HR10-250 was.

Got transferred stateside. Was offered HR10-250 for $299.99, but thats
all.

Got transferred to retention. Was also offered six months
Showtime free, 6 months HBO at $2/month, and 6 months of $5 off
HD programming cost.

A good deal, but not the best deal.

So who do I ask for and what code word do I need to use??

========

Along the way I mentioned how there's only 5 HD channels. They say:
"We're always adding". I said "NOT", and "The 3 new satellites will
require a new box", I was told: "We'll upgrade you if that happens", I
asked "Will you put that in writing?", and suddenly the rep changed the
subject.

It usually takes 3 calls to customer retention
1 800 824 9081

Each time they up the ante a bit
Each call is diaried.
Don't forget to include the waiver request

YMMV
