Asus G75vw as desktop replacement or a new GPU ?

Hello guys, im a little torn apart on what should i do.

My desktop gpu just died last week and im thinking about getting a laptop as replacement for my current desktop and laptop or getting a new gpu.

I dont know if i should sell my current desktop + current laptop to buy an Asus G75vw-dh71.

I have the following rig:
mobo:970a-ud3
CPU:AMD fx 8150
PSU:600w
RAM: 16 gb 1600mhz kingstone
case:CM storm scout

and the following laptop:
HP - probook 6475b A8 4500m 1.9/4g/320/14dvrw A8 4500m 1.9/4g/320/14dvrw.

I usually use my desktop for gaming, but i use my laptop to play with friends on lan partys or some light work. And I dont need to have both so that is the main reason what i wasnt sure of what to do at this point.

I think that the g75 has the best of both worlds. the portability of a laptop (although is a big laptop) and the performance of a desktop. I found a g75 at $1000. So it seems like a good deal.

Do you guys think tha i should sell my desktop+laptop and buy the g75 or just buy a replacement for my GPU.

The GPU's that im thinking about are the amd r9 270x and the 280x 3gb

Guess it depends on your priorities. Portability first, or gaming performance?
