Which tablet for basic use (email, facebook, internet)

Hello
My wife has a new phone (Moto G - 4,5" screen) and she uses it a lot, even at home. I was thinking I could buy her a tablet, something between 7" and 8". I want to keep it cheap (~ $150) but don;t want the "unknown" brand
I was looking at my local Sam's club, and noticed the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7" or the Acer Iconia A1- 830, 7.9".
The Acer has a bigger screen, 2 cameras, but I've read average reviews. I thought the Samsung couldbe a better pick for the same price, but I've seen reviews saying this tablet was not so great either...Which one would you reommend?

samsung usually has better build quality vs acer so id get the samsung.
