Is it possible to upgrade gpu on a Kindle Fire HD?

I have a Kindle Fire HD 8.9 that I acquired secondhand. It runs very well, but the streaming video quality is all-around poor. I've tested it with various wi-fi signal strengths and have had trouble getting clear video even when I'm getting 50+ mbps, and my other wireless devices have no trouble streaming clearly.

I have trouble with both in-browser video from Youtube etc. as well as streaming video through Amazon Prime.

It has the stock Imagination PowerVR GPU, and I was wondering if it would be possible to upgrade to a better GPU (if one even exists). Is it possible to buy aftermarket components for Fire?

Or, alternatively, do I have an entirely different problem that I need to address?

It's not upgradable. Could be a settings issue have you tried a full reset?

I tried a full reset, and I discovered during the re-setup that I had it running on my regular wireless instead of the 5G wireless. I switched to the 5G and this improved performance somewhat but it's still pretty blurry.
