wifi authenticty problem

I have a samsung galaxy tab 3 8". I can connect to wifi for a short period of time but then it disconnects and says there is a authenticty problem. This happens every 10 mins or so. Worse now we have a wifi signal booster. Tried various solution's to no avail. Please help

Make sure that you tablet's date/time (including its timezone) are properly set.

I would rather root and install a custom ROM.
