I am pretty sure the best alternative typing technology for this kind of glasses is to superimpose the characters with a 3D digital projection (visible only on glasses) directly on the face of your another person (could be a random-passerby as well). You'd then proceed to type by touching the person's face as needed - for example poking his left eye could activate the letter "E", pulling the nose would send the "clear message" signal...I think it has potential. From my side, can't wait to see people gesticulating in the air to type messages, that should be good fun.
