I understand desktops are the best for gaming no argument there. But, I have the need to have a gaming laptop for various reasons the most needing the ability to move my system around daily.

I have worked up 3 choices after a long search and opinions from friends. I know each have their strong suits and weak suits but was hoping for a bit of advice.

Another note: Many of the upgrades I do not need are either included with the model or were on sale for cheap or free.

Thank you all in advance.

I honestly wouldn't touch any of those with a 10 foot pole. Especially on that budget. Cyberpower is horrible and has a truly horrendous reputation around here (they're not known for quality control or quality technical support) and among serious system builders. Digital Storm I've heard has mixed opinions depending on who you talk to. Alienware is an overrated Dell sub brand. The bad thing about ridiculously expensive laptops is that they depreciate really quickly in value and when you go to sell you won't get back 1/2 of what you paid for it. If you insist on a laptop go with a much smaller vendor like Falcon Northwest or Origin. But the best thing to do on that kind of budget would be to build your own desktop around the $1500 range and then buy a $800 - $1000 laptop like a Lenovo Y510P and then you'd get the best of both worlds.

I do understand abut desktops like I said. Unfortunately, due to injuries I cannot stay at a desktop for to long but still want to be able to game from a couch, chair or such. To date I have always had a desktop for my gaming needs with the laptop being a chat/search /lil online games item.

I have heard over and over not to buy off the shelf laptops and to look at a few different sites for custom builds.

My budget is around 3000 to 4k but would like to stay closer to 3k out the door...or shipped to the door :)

So thank you for the advice .
