Hi. I have a problem with a two year old Sony Vaio laptop. when i remove the battery it works just fine but with battery plugged in (with or without AC power) laptop won't turn on. when i press the power button for a second the lights turn on and i can hear the HDD but quickly it turns off again.
Thinking the battery is dead i bought a new one but the problem is still there.
What can be the problem? Is it mainboard or battery connector or something else?

Hi, I don't think the problem is coming from the battery connector. If the connector looks good, no pins bend, the connector is not the problem. The charging circuit is definitely the problem, it can't charge the battery or switch when you remove the DC adapter.

The connector does look good and i think too that's not the problem. but i have to check the circuit. I found this on another thread :
Pull the battery out with unlock nob. place about 1mm x 10mm x 50mm size of soft piece on the other side where you don't have electrical contact. Put the battery back in. This problem seems caused by too much room for battery. said:

I tried it but no success.

When you said you will check the circuit, what do you mean by that.
