simple question: whats the difference between the google play edition and the normal one?

Google Play Edition is the version running pure Android, meaning it's not a version of Android that's been molested by LG.

I say the Google Play Edition because I enjoy the pure Android experience and according to reviews the LG skinned version is very jerky.

The google play edition will also get android updates sooner than most other android devices.

For all intents and purposes the Google play edition is far superior

You loose a few features that you MAY be interested in (but for the most part are kinda eh) (also these features can easily be added to the Google play edition)
But in all the important aspects a tablet are there. Its a lot faster, gets updates as soon as they come out while I can take months otherwise. And while this last one is a matter of opinion google play edition is a lot cleaner, easier to use, and useful
