I'm new to tablets (yeah, I know. A little behind the times) and I just bought the ASUS MeMo FHD10.1 tablet (ME302C-A1-BL). It is running on Android 4.2 Jellybean OS.

It of course has the micro USB slot where you charge it. But can you get a USB to micro USB cord and use that slot to access a USB flash drive or external hard drive?

Thanks for the link.

I assume it can be a normal flash drive or HDD and does not need it's own power source, correct?

Flash drives and hdds that don't use powercables don't require that. The tablet will handle that.
