Best laptop processor for watching Bluray movies

Thinking of getting my parents a laptop for their anniversary, and need to know whats the best processor for watching youtube 1080p, Bluray movies etc, they dont want to use the desktop and would rather have a laptop. Their current computer has a Intel core 2 Duo E8400, but on some movies you get stuttering and slowdowns. So i need something better but not too expensive whether it be AMD or Intel, either are fine. They dont want to play game (except dad who plays facebook games)

Any advice or help is greatly appreciated.

Generally speaking any current generation Intel CPU / AMD CPU should be capable of playing up to 4k resolution video which is known as ultra HD. It suppose it boils down to the size of the laptop, resolution of the screen and how much you want to spend.

1080p screen are generally only available on more expensive laptops; $700+. As well as Blu-Ray drives.

I suppose weight and battery life could also be a concern.
