Why are the fans on my laptop cooler pad loud?

The product on Amazon said that it had two "whisper quiet" fans and yet I can hear them clearly over my laptop fans. Could this be because I am using this 3.5 year old laptop for more than what it was designed for in the sense of online gaming and HD film playback?

Sounds like marketing to get you to buy the cooler.

What do user reviews say? If other users say that the fans are indeed quiet (or quiet enough), then it is possible that the fans for your cooler is louder than normal.

There's only 5 comments so i might return this and get a 17" cooler I was looking at which may be more expensive but to me it looks better and has the same 4.5* rating but from way more users.
