If there is another user account on the computer that has administrator access then it can be removed by going to the account settings using that account and removing/resetting the password. If you don't have another account that has administrator access then it can't be reset. In that case you'll need to back everything that is important to another computer and reformatting the drive back to factory settings which will erase everything that you didn't back up.

Hi

We are not allowed to tell you how to bypass or replace the Windows logon password

but most computer professionals will be able to do it for you.
Most will ask for proof of ownership first.

@roguecomgeek: Not necessarily true. There is a guide on how to do so, but be warned, takes patience and zero errors: http://pcsupport.about.com/od/windows7/ht/reset-password-windows-7.htm .

Theres another method involving booting to windows recovery off a windows disc, mounting the hive, and changing a registry file as well.

If you don't want to deal with doing it on your own, Geek Squad will remove it for $30.
