Need a notebook/laptop that can be taken to class for notes.

Preferably touchscreen.

Needs to be able to handle adobe suite (6).

Would like to run Solid-works, not required to render.

I will be using the touch screen option in place of purchasing a bamboo stylus pad.

How about the 10.6" MS Surface Pro 2? Starting price of $899 for the 64GB, but that does not give you much free space so the $999 128GB version is generally better.

There's also the Sony VAIO Flip 13, but it starts at $1,100 I think.

If you got even more $$$ to burn, then there's the 12.5" ThinkPad Yoga which starts at $1,299.

These are all utter overpriced garbage.

Depends on what the purpose is for.

Cheap and weak is not for everyone either.

Just because you may not be able to afford one of those products or if you are not willing to spend that much does not mean that other share your own limited point of view.

The closer to $500 the better, but that's a moveable price.

Anywhere from n 8 inch screen to 15 inches MAX, If the silhouette fits within a standard folder size that would be preferable.

I will look into the ones listed.

Thank you thus far.

Actually, I have to apologize, the convertible laptops I provided links to are really not applicable to your needs. Previous to answering your question I was providing answers / recommendations in several different threads where people were looking for convertible laptop / tablets that obviously has a much higher price point.

I guess Carbonate was kinda right call 'em overpriced garbage... at least in your case...

Unfortunately, the addition of a touchscreen is typically adds a $75 - $100 premium in a laptop so searching for one within a reasonable range of your desired budget may be difficult and will take more time....

14" Lenovo Z410 = $500 with Core i3-4000m / 4.4lbs starting weight
http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops/ideapad/z-series/z410/

14" Lenovo IdeaPad U430p = $549 / $559 depending on the color. Similar to the Z410, but this is an ultrabook so you get a lighter laptop that is easier to carry around. 3.8lbs starting weight
http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops/ideapad/u-series/u430p/

14" Lenovo Flex = $549 with the Core i3-4010u. Do not get the much weaker Celeron version for $449. You will likely regret your decision sooner rather than later if you buy the cheapest one. TOUCHSCREEN. It is similar to the Yoga, but you cannot fold the screen all the way back to turn it into a tablet. 4.4bls.

15.6" ThinkPad E545 - Business laptop with an AMD APU so you can also play games. Base price $439 with a relatively weak dual core A6-5350m and a relatively weak graphics core as well. Add the $70 option for the quad core A10-5750m and you can play games with the current most powerful integrated graphics core; the Radeon HD 8650g... oh yeah... you can also do school work too (boooorinnngggggg...zzz, zzz, zzz). Average weight for a 15.6" laptop at 5.4bls.

That's all for now. I got other things I need to do tonight....

Good job.
I was going to mention that for the previous prices you mentioned he can get a laptop with a dedicated graphics card if he enjoys video games instead of something that compact and expensive, such as a Lenovo IdeaPad for $849.99 which comes with an i5 processor and Nvidia 750M SLI if you need to blow off some steam though it is not touchscreen. And whatever the fuck you name is, just because someone makes a quick post you don't have to immediately degrade it you ignorant fuck. Touchscreen is also useless on a laptop the most your going to be doing is opening applications I don't know any computer literate and sensible person that recommends blowing off money touchscreen.

OP should of found his answer by now. I'll do the honours and call it /Thread.
Cheers.
