Laptop for the long haul: W530?

I want to buy a laptop and use it for 6-8 years, just making small upgrades to keep up with the times. I do not want to buy an expensive laptop, only to have to replace it with a new version 2-3 years from now. I am willing to add to it from time to time, replacing the graphics card or installing more RAM, etc.

I will use this laptop to watch movies and play video games. I anticipate watching movies in very demanding formats. I will play only moderately demanding games.

Would the Thinkpad W530 meet my needs? Will it meet my needs in 6-8 years with only minor upgrades?

max 4-5 years it will do
