Im contemplating which laptop to buy.
What Im going to do with this laptop is mostly web design and some gaming (to be able to play BF4 multiplayer on atleast low-medium settings atleast)

Is it worth spending an extra 300 bucks for the graphics/resolution?
What do you think?
Would these laptops be better then my current desktop?
(Dell Vostro 200 Core 2 Duo 3.1ghz w/ 4GB ram Nvidia GTX260) Pretty old but plays games good including bf4 storymode, didnt try online yet.)
 
The GT 750m is significantly more powerful than the Integrated Radeon HD 8650g. There is no comparison. The 2nd Newegg link does not work.

The GT 750m would be approximately equal to the GTX 260. The link below is some info and benchmarks for the GT 750m. In the middle column is it's overall ranking amongst mostly laptop graphic chip, but there are a few desktop cards as well (in black text). The GT 750m ranks above the desktop GTS 450 which according to the performance chart further below is just a bit slower than the GTX 260.

You will notice there are multiple FPS for each game, those FPS are from specific laptops. Click the FPS result to see the specs of the laptop. Benchmarking graphic chips in laptops is not as easy as benchmarking graphic cards in desktops. Graphic chips are generally soldered into the laptop and can have any CPU ranging from a dual core 1.6GHz CPU to a quad core 3.0GHz CPU. In desktops it's easy, simply remove the graphics card and install another graphics card to benchmark.

From a desktop perspective, the general average performance increase going from a Core 2 Duo / Quad to a Haswell generation dual / quad core is about 38%. Laptops may be a little less; it's possible that some timing can be looser in a laptop CPUs compared with desktop CPUs. For argument sake just say for laptop Haswell CPUs vs desktop C2D / C2Q it is a 33% increase in performance. Therefore, a dual core Haswell mobile CPU running at 2.3GHz would be equivalent to youe C2D @ 3.1GHz. In games that can take advantage of more than 2 cores a quad core Haswell mobile CPU running at the same 2.3GHz would naturally provide a bit more performance.

In general terms the Lenovo Y510p with the GT 750m & i7-4700mq is be about equal to your current desktop and provides better performance for games which can use more than 2 core.

Thank you so much for that well detailed explanation. I fixed the second link but now the choice is if I should buy the i7 y510 1366x768 for $800 or the newegg link for ~900 which has an i5 processor with 1080 resolution and SLI-Dual GT750M's
 
I generally like laptops with higher resolution because I do more than just play games on my laptop. My 14" Lenovo Y470 has a resolution of 1366x768 which is fine for playing games, although sniping is more difficult compared to higher resolution screens. However, for general use and multitasking I find the resolution to be too low which is why I am really thinking about buying a new laptop with a 1920x1080 resolution screen.

You can checkout the performance of the GTX 750m SLI in the link to notebookcheck. You can get over 30FPS+ using "ultra settings" which is 1920x1080 resolution and very high / ultra settings in many games. But there are some games where it will be less. You can use lower settings, lower resolution or the combination of the two to get better performance. Most games still use 2 cores and many benchmarks have shown that laptops with stronger GPUs and weaker CPUs do better than laptops with weaker GPUs and stronger CPUs. Note not all games can make use of SLI.
